Beyoncé, who instructed girls to run the world with her VMA-nominated smash song, will now run the stage at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
The “Run the World (Girls)” singer, who has three nominations this year (including Best Female Video, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography) and is the previous recipient of nine Moonmen, including 2009’s Video of the Year award for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” will join the lineup of 2011 VMA performers, which already includes Lady Gaga, Adele, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Young the Giant, Pitbull and Ne-Yo. Jessie J will serve as a house artist for the ceremony.
"We are thrilled to have Beyoncé return to her rightful musical home at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards," said Amy Doyle, executive producer of the 2011 MTV VMAs and MTV’s EVP of Music & Talent, in a statement. "Her performances at the VMAs are legendary — leaving everyone breathless and talking for days. We can’t wait to see her set the stage on fire once again!"
While it’s been two years since the pop diva extraordinaire last hit the stage as a VMA performer (when she, along with a bevy of backup dancers, brought down the house with a "Single Ladies" number), Beyoncé recently played a series of intimate shows at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, performing songs off of her latest album, 4, as well as classic hits, including favorites from the Destiny’s Child era, to sold-out crowds.
The VMAs will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday at 9 p.m. (live ET/ tape-delayed PT). Presenters includes Selena Gomez (who will pull double duty as VMA pre-show host), Taylor Lautner, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Zoe Saldana, Seth Rogen, Drake, Joe Jonas, Jared Leto, Jonah Hill, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Victoria Justice, Rick Ross, Odd Future and JB Smoove.
Though voting is closed for Beyoncé’s categories, fans can still vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com online or m.mtv.com on their mobile phones. In addition, Best New Artist text voting is open to all wireless carrier subscribers by texting BNA to 66333. Voting continues all the way through the show, until the winner is announced live on Sunday.
The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. See the list of nominees, revisit last year’s highlights and vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

If it seems like we just saw Kevin Dillon on 'Entourage,' that’s because we did. But he’s back already, and he’s playing pretty much the same guy on 'How to Be a Gentleman' (Thu., 8:30PM ET on CBS). That said, he’s not the titular gentleman … or is he?

American and Canadian audiences can vote for the North American nominee for the Worldwide Act award, who will represent the continent at the EMAs against contenders from across the globe.
So, who will go head-to-head with the superstar? Adele’s unstoppable “Rolling in the Deep,” Bruno Mars’ “Grenade,” Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” (featuring Pitbull) and Katy Perry’s “Firework” will go up against Gaga for Best Song.
For Best Pop, Britney Spears, Bieber, Perry, Rihanna and Gaga are set to face off, while Adele, Beyoncé, J.Lo, Katy and Gaga also made the final cut for Best Female.
Battling it out in the Best Male category are Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Bieber, Kanye West and Eminem, who’s also up for Best Hip Hop alongside Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West (a.k.a. the Throne), Pitbull and Snoop Dogg.

On Monday morning (September 19), Bieber reacted to the nods on Twitter, writing, “Just got word that we got 3 MTV EMA Nominations for Best Male, Best Pop, Biggest Fans!! THANKS SO MUCH! LEt’s VOTE!!!”
Well, those fans better take note. Beliebers voting in the Biggest Fans category will face off against his girlfriend Selena Gomez's followers, Thirty Second to Mars' devotees, Paramore's biggest admirers and, of course, Lady Gaga's Monsters.

Mother Monster attended an Obama fundraiser over the weekend at home of Facebook COO. By Gil Kaufman
Lady Gaga Photo: BuzzFoto
Lady Gaga is not one to make a promise to her Little Monsters and not keep it. That explains why she raised her hand and asked President Obama a question about bullying at a Silicon Valley fundraising event for the Commander in Chief over the weekend at the home of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.
The $38,500-per-couple event for around 70 guests took place under a tent in Sandberg’s yard and, according to ABC News, it’s where Gaga made good on a Twitter vow she’d posted last Wednesday in reaction to the suicide of bullied teen Jamey Rodemeyer. Gaga — who turned heads in a black dress with a dramatically plunging back, extremely high heels, a blond upswept hairdo and a black veil covering the back of her hair — brought up the issue during the Q&A segment of the event.
Though a transcript of the exchange is not available, according to reports, she first thanked Obama for what he’s done so far on the subject — which includes a forum held earlier this year about bullying and an “It Gets Better” video — and then read from what she described as a letter from a fan about the suicide of another Little Monster who had been bullied.
After congratulating the president on all of the things he’s accomplished so far in his first term, Gaga made what was described as a “general plea” to everyone in the room, including the president, to do what they can to prevent bullying. Obama then reportedly thanked her, re-iterated his administration’s anti-bullying work and spoke in general about the importance of values.
Gaga also reportedly had a bit of face time with Obama before dinner, when she walked through the photo line with her manager and spoke to the president for two minutes in a room full of other guests. The singer dedicated her song “Hair” to Rodemeyer at Saturday’s iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, speaking out in support of the gay teen who committed suicide last week after enduring years of bullying by his school peers.
Just days after the 14-year-old’s death, Gaga was so shaken that she called on Obama to enact laws that would make bullying a hate crime. “The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went further, posting Rodemeyer’s “It Gets Better” video, and insisting that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.”
It was then that she revealed she planned to meet with Obama to discuss the matter.

'It's a fashion statement,' Wu-producer tells MTV News of his Chambers by RZA line. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Adam Murphy

All the cool rappers are doing it. From Dr. Dre to Ludacris to 50 Cent and now Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, A-list hip-hop stars are cashing in on the headphone craze. Teaming up with street-clothing brand WeSC, the Wu producer will be launching Chambers by RZA in the fall. MTV News sat down with the RZArector last week while he was out in Berlin for the Bread & Butter Supershow and discussed his latest endeavor.
The producer/rapper is known for his discerning ear, intricate beats and expert mixes, so fans should expect the headsets to be on point, sonically. “I wanted to make one that was going to be cool, dope, that’s going to be fly to wear, as well sound good, as well as practical in use, and that’s when we came with Chambers by RZA,” he explained.
Functionality was key, so there are quite a few features that the RZA says set his headphones apart from others on the market. One unique feature, in particular, is the battery-powered noise-canceling function. “I wanted to make sure that when the noise-cancellation batteries run out, the headphones still work. I hate when the batteries run out and the headphones don’t work,” RZA said. “What’s the use of paying a couple hundred bucks for headphones that’s dependent on $5 batteries? It don’t make sense. So these headphones, when the batteries run out, you still can use it as a regular headphone.”
Another key feature is the headphones’ ability to link to other ear buds, allowing multiple people to listen to the same device simultaneously. “We made ours as to now you can plug right in; you can connect headphone-to-headphone-to-headphone,” he said. “You and your girlfriend could be chillin’ on the train maybe, she can have her iPod, and guess what? You’re both hearing the same song, enjoying each other’s company.”
The Chambers by RZA also light up while the music is playing, creating a kind of light show. And in addition to the flashing lights, the Shaolin representative wanted to make his line fashionable, even taking into account his Wu-Tang bandmates during the design process.
"I wear Timberlands, black Timberlands a lot, right? So I needed an all-black pair of headphones," he said. "Raekwon, he likes wearing Air Force 1s — him and Method Man wear Air Force 1s. Almost every Wu-Tang Show, [Rae] got on a pair of Nikes, so I thought about headphones that would match his Nikes."
Combining functionality with fashion is what RZA hopes will make his line of headphones stand out from the competition. “That’s what I think it should be; it’s a fashion statement,” he added. “It’s not only something that’s useful — because they gotta be useful, of course — but to be useful and cool, you can’t beat that.”
Would you buy Chambers by RZA headphones? Let us know in the comments
Peas benefit concert raised more than $1 million for North Dakota flood recovery efforts. By Gil Kaufman

It’s been a summer of devastating flooding in the Midwest and northeast and two bands are doing their part to help victims of the storms clean up. Officials said on Wednesday (September 7) that the Black Eyed Peas raised at least $1.3 million to help flood recovery efforts in the North Dakota town of Minot with a concert Saturday at the North Dakota State Fair Grandstand.
According to the Associated Press, the group drew nearly 16,000 fans to the show, which featured an appearance from actor and Minot native Josh Duhamel, who is married to BEP singer Fergie. Nearly one-fourth of the city’s residents were evacuated earlier this summer when the Souris River flooded the town.
Meanwhile, jam band godheads Phish plan to perform their first show in their home state of Vermont since 2004 in order to help victims of Tropical Storm Irene. The show will take place on September 14 at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, with tickets going on sale on Saturday.
The group, which formed in Vermont 28 years ago, said in a statement that the devastation in the region from the storm had a profound effect on them. “It’s been heartbreaking to see all the loss and destruction that came from the storm,” said Phish keyboardist Page McConnell. “Vermont is very much a part of who we are as a band. We’re really looking forward to playing this show and we hope the money raised will make a difference in the recovery and rebuilding effort.”
Tickets will be $75, and proceeds from the show and merchandise sales will go to the band’s WaterWheel Foundation and the Vermont Community Foundation to aid in recovery from the flooding caused by the storm.
The Biggest Logic Fails in The Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 2: “The Hybrid”
The Vampire Diaries is a show where witches can bring back people from the dead, vampires kiss humans instead of ripping their throats out, and werewolves have silky smooth chests when they haven’t transformed. And we accept all of this without the blink of the eye. Yet it’s the little things that make us scoff and say, “that would never happen.” Check out the biggest logic fails from Season 3, Episode 2, “The Hybrid.”4. Trace elementsWe know Sheriff Forbes…
Spoilers! Vampire Diaries Begins Casting for Esther, the Mother of All Vampires
The Vampire Diaries has no shortage of badass female characters, and TV Guide says one more is being added to the ever-growing list: Esther, the mother of the Original family, is on her way to our small screens. We’ll first face the ferocious mama vamp via 1,000-year-old flashbacks. As for what she’s like, sources hint that Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) mom is undeniably fierce, but also fiercely loyal. Faheem Muhammad — Michael Jackson’s Bodyguard Testifies Updated 9/28/11 at 2:05 PM
Michael Jackson's head of security, Faheem Muhammad, claims Prince and Paris witnessed Conrad Murray desperately trying to resuscitate their father the morning he died, and had to be removed from the scene.
Muhammad testified Paris was “on the ground, balled up crying,” and Prince “was shocked and slowly crying.”
Muhammad claims Jackson appeared to be dead when he arrived at the scene — and when he noticed Prince and Paris in the doorway, he took them downstairs.
Muhammad says that’s when he heard Murray asking if anyone knew CPR — and his fellow bodyguard Alberto Alvarez rushed to help.
Once MJ was pronounced dead, MJ’s assistant Michael Amir Williams relayed to him Murray’s request to go back and retrieve the “cream” — and that’s when they both agreed not to let Murray back in the house.
Muhammad also claimed MJ visited Dr. Arnold Klein's office several times a week and often came out “a bit tipsy” — but never explained why. According to Muhammad, MJ once said to him, “You must think I'm crazy for going to Dr. Klein's everyday.”
Lil Wayne Drops Deep Messages In 'How To Love' Video
Tragic clip tugs at heartstrings with depictions of abuse, molestation and prostitution. By Rob Markman

If fans already thought that Lil Wayne put his emotions on display on "How to Love," off Tha Carter IV, wait until they get a load of the video, which premieres online on Wednesday (August 24). The Chris Robinson-directed clip is filled with drama and social commentary, telling the story of a beautiful young woman who stumbles into every imaginable pitfall.
The video opens in an abortion clinic, where a woman lies in a gown on the operating table. Suddenly she changes her mind and flies off the table and through the clinic’s hall, choosing to keep her child. Shortly after that, the song’s acoustic guitar licks drop in and we see a shirtless Wayne alone in a dimly lit hallway, singing, “You had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart, never really had luck, could never figure out how to love.”
It is then that the distressed woman’s story begins to unspool. We first see her being abused by her boyfriend, thrown to the ground in her bedroom while her infant, sitting in a car seat nearby, cries. Fast-forward a few years later, and the mother is in a prison visiting room, talking to her incarcerated boyfriend through a glass panel while her daughter, now a toddler, sits in her lap.
A boyfriend in prison is just the tip of the iceberg. Things get disturbing as her daughter, who now appears to be a preteen, becomes a victim of child molestation. The scene starts just as Tunechi belts out, “When you were just a young’un, your looks were so precious.” Cash Money and company clearly pulled no punches. We see the young girl sitting in pigtails as her mother’s boyfriend approaches her while unfastening his belt and putting his fingers to his lips, an indication that she should keep quiet as she tries to fight him off. In the following sequences, the young girl, now all grown up (and played by video actress Chanta Patton), has become overly promiscuous.
The message is deep, and in the video Wayne plays second fiddle, not letting his performance shots get in the way of Robinson’s story-telling. Together they illustrate a domino effect. Forget going from bad to worse: During the course of the five-minute clip things go from tragic to abysmal. The young woman’s eventual career as a stripper begets prostitution, and it is her life as a prostitute that ultimately leads to devastating consequences. At approximately the three-minute mark the music cuts out and we see the principal character in a doctor’s office similar to the one shown in the first scene, only this time she isn’t able to run from the results. “Your blood results came back positive,” the doctor tells her. When she asks, “Positive for what?,” he replies, “HIV.”
Maybe the message is dramatically overdone, but with the clip Wayne — who will be performing at the Video Music Awards and dropping his album at midnight afterwards — sparks discussion much like TLC did with their cautionary 1995 video for “Waterfalls.”
There is hope, however; in a rewind sequence the victim’s life is redone. In an alternate reality, the domestic violence her mother originally faced is erased. Instead, she marries in a church ceremony, and with no abuse or prison visits to speak of, her daughter’s life is now set right. Consequently, Patton’s character endures no molestation, nor does she resort to stripping or prostitution. Instead she graduates from high school and enrolls in beauty school. Eventually, she winds up in the same doctor’s office seen earlier in the clip — only this time the news is good: The beauty school grad finds out she’s pregnant and reacts with a joyous sigh, before turning to her mother to say, “Thank you, just thank you for being there for me and teaching me how to love.”
It wasn’t just the guitar strings that Weezy plucked at with this single; he was clearly tugging at the heartstrings as well.

The list of nominees runs from Justin Bieber to Courtney Love, Britney Spears, Scissor Sisters, Katy Perry, Bjork, Nirvana, Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg, and that can only mean one thing: It must be time for the O Music Awards again.
When MTV launched its first-annual digital music celebration earlier this year, we promised that it would be like no other awards show, with trophies handed out before, after and during the show, as well as throughout the year.
Among the five new user-generated categories are “Oops! The other new categories include Best Web Born Artist (MNDR, Odd Future, the Weeknd), Best Vintage Viral Video (Metallica, Nirvana, Notorious B.I.G., O’Connor) and Best Lyrics Video (Perry, Joe Jonas, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Perri).
Among Gaga’s two nominations are Fan Army FTW — in which she’ll square off with the followers of Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Lovato, ICP, Adam Lambert and Tokio Hotel — and Must Follow Artist on Twitter, in which she faces Cher, Snoop Dogg, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and Blake Shelton.
The O Music Awards will also honor a number of artists who are really good at this whole online thing, with Bjork, Chris Milk, Girl Talk and the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne vying for the Digital Genius Award.
The other categories include: Best Fan Cover, Hottest Music NILF (think about it), WTF I Love This Award (online craziness), the self-explanatory Too Much Ass for TV award, Most Outrageous Tweet and Best Music Forum. Adele, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber Land New Guinness Records
Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Black Eyed Peas and ‘Glee’ also get new entries in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records.’ By Gil Kaufman

Adele has been on a record-setting tear all year and now the British songbird can claim to be a "Guinness Book of World Records" champ. The upcoming 2012 edition of the book reveals that the "Rolling in the Deep" singer is in good company, as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Willow Smith and Justin Bieber also set some high-water marks over the past 12 months.
Adele can count three records, including first female to land two singles and two albums in the U.K. top five simultaneously — which only the Beatles had achieved before in 1963. Her breakthrough second CD, 21, claimed the record as the first album in U.K. chart history to sell 3 million copies in one calendar year.
She also logged the most consecutive weeks with the #1 album in the U.K. for a solo female with 11 weeks at the top — beating a record previously held by Madonna's The Immaculate Collection — and most cumulative weeks with a U.K. #1 for a solo female (18), beating out both Alanis Morissette and Shania Twain, who shared the previous record at 11 weeks.
Lady Gaga's social media predominance was rewarded, landing her the Most Followers on Twitter crown with 11,259,372 as of June 29 (she's currently at 13,469,754). In addition, “Poker Face” was honored for Most Weeks on U.S. Digital Hot Songs chart at 83 weeks. Gaga made the book last year for having the most consecutive weeks on the U.K. chart and being the most searched-for woman on the Internet.
Some other new records:
Justin Bieber: The singer’s “Baby” was dubbed the Most Popular Video of Any Kind Online, thanks to 463,820,304 views as of February 16, 2011.
The Black Eyed Peas: The Biggest Selling Download in the U.K. is “I Gotta Feeling,” the first-ever track to go over 1 million downloads in England.
J.K. Rowling: The “Harry Potter” author is lauded for being the First Billionaire Author thanks to sales of more than 400 million copies of the books worldwide.
"Glee": The hit show scored the Most Hit Singles in a Calendar Year with 48 making it into the U.K. top 75 in 2011, breaking their previous record of 45 hits in 2010.
Rihanna: First Female to have U.K. #1 singles in five consecutive years (2007-2011), from “Rude Boy” to her most recent, “Only Girl (In the World).” Only Elvis and the Beatles have had more U.K. #1 singles in consecutive years.
Willow Smith: The Youngest Transatlantic Top 20 Artist, thanks to “Whip My Hair” hitting the top 20 when she was only 10 years old.
Lil Wayne: Most U.S. Hot 100 Hits by a Rap Artist with 64 between 1999 and 2010.
U2: Highest Grossing Music Tour for the 360 outing, which by April 2011 had raked in more than $539 million for 110 shows between July 2009 and July 2011.
Royce Da 5'9" Calls Watch The Throne 'Great For Hip-Hop'
Eminem collaborator tells ‘RapFix Live’ Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album shows that ‘it’s cool to be lyrical.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway

Hip-hop tandems are nothing new. In 2009, KRS-One and Buckshot collaborated on Survival Skills, and that same year Canibus and Keith Murray got together and put out their Undergods album.
But in 2011, the idea of two solo MCs getting together seems to be more popular than ever. In June, Royce da 5’9” and Eminem dropped their collaborative EP, Hell: The Sequel, as Bad Meets Evil, then on Monday, Jay-Z and Kanye West released their get-together, Watch the Throne. On the very next day, Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame emerged with their Ferrari Boyz album.
"It’s a trend," Royce da 5’9" said when he visited "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. “I don’t know who did it first, but it’s definitely a trend. I think my group — without tooting our own horns — I think my group Slaughterhouse started that four-man trend, that group trend. As far as the tandem thing, me and Em were working on the EP for a long time.”
Royce doesn’t take full credit for setting things off with Bad Meets Evil; he said he believes great minds think alike. “I think it’s a good thing that people are teaming up doing that because it’s something new in hip-hop and something that will continue the art form growing. If it stays the same for long periods of time, it starts to feel like it could fade away — which it can.”
The Detroit rapper, who dropped his fifth solo album, Success is Certain, earlier this week, admits that he’s only heard WTT in its entirety once — but so far, so good. “I think it’s good,” Nickel Nine commented. “It sounds like they went in and did what they wanted to do, which I can respect. That’s exactly what me and Marshall did: We went in and did the type of music that we wanted to do.
"They wanted to go in and make an album; that’s what they did. We wanted to go in and just be lyrical and box, go back and forth, and we not thinking about making an album."
The success of both Watch the Throne and Hell: The Sequel leaves Royce optimistic about hip-hop’s future. “I think the fact that both of those projects are out and they are doing well, it’s great for hip-hop because both of them are lyrical projects, and it was one time in hip-hop when it wasn’t really cool to be lyrical,” he said. “So you got these big guns going in and showing these kids of today that it’s cool to be lyrical.”

50 Cent Calls Kelly Rowland 'The Most Underrated Female'
'There wasn't no dance moves Beyoncé was doin' that Kelly wasn't doin',' 50 tells MTV News of Destiny's Child songstress. By Rob Markman, with reporting by James Smith

50 Cent loves music, but like everyone, he has tailored tastes.
While on the set of Tony Yayo’s video for “Haters” in Atlanta last week, 50 ran through some of his favorite songs of the moment with MTV News. In addition to Big Sean’s “My Last” and Frank Ocean’s “Novacane,” Fif is waving the flag for former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland, counting her hit record “Motivation” as one of his faves.
"I’m so happy Kelly got that hit record. She’s due; she’s so due. She’s the most underrated female soloist in the game, and it’s finally time for her,” 50 told MTV News.
The G-Unit General pointed to Rowland’s international appeal. “Commander” with David Guetta was a huge hit in the U.K. but not necessarily in the United States. It was her buzz overseas that made Fif cast Kelly as his co-star in the lead video from his 2009 album Before I Self Destruct. “That’s why when it came time to do ‘Baby by Me,’ I wanted her to be in the video, because she was smoking hot everywhere else my record had to be hot at,” he said. “They thought I was doin’ her a favor because here in the U.S., they wasn’t hip.”
Still, throughout most of her career, Kelly Rowland has played second fiddle to her Destiny’s Child partner and group lead Beyoncé, a notion Fif doesn’t agree with. “There wasn’t no dance moves Beyoncé was doin’ that Kelly wasn’t doin’. It’s just the right song. You got the song, now you can forget about it. It’s going. They all did the same moves.”
It’s not just Kelly’s talent Fif has his eye on; he also compared Kelly’s and B’s respective looks. “It’s your preference. If you look and say one is prettier than the other, I beg to differ — it’s just what you think is pretty.

Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez's Arena Date: How Much Did It Cost?
A regular guy would have dropped serious coin to rent out the Staples Center for a romantic night out. By Gil Kaufman

Membership has its privileges, and when the club you’re in is the elite pop star society, there isn’t much you can’t get your hands on. That’s why a teenager like Justin Bieber was able to swing the swankiest surprise date of all time with his squeeze Selena Gomez on Friday night when he treated her to dinner and a movie at the Staples Center.
Now, before you get any ideas. The 20,000-seat home of the Los Angeles Lakers (and countless major concerts) is not available to just any Joe Schmo. No, Bieber reportedly got the keys to the palace for free because he’s sold the joint out three times and owner AEG Live figured they’d throw him a bone. Which got us thinking: What would it cost to treat your sweetie to a Bieber-esque night of steak and “Titanic”?
As you might imagine, the powers-that-be at Staples weren’t really willing to spill the beans, but we crunched some numbers on our own and here’s what we were able to figure:
$475,000: That’s how much it would cost you to buy a high-end VIP luxury suite for 14 at the Staples Center, which would get you about 2,500 tickets a year to Lakers, Clippers and Sparks basketball games; L.A. Kings hockey games; concerts; lectures; X Games; and wrestling matches. Given that the venue holds 20,000, we can only imagine a one-night rental would run you well into the six figures.
$200-plus: Bieber ordered steaks and pasta from the exclusive members-only Lexus Club at Staples, a 130-capacity high-end dining area where even the buffet will run you $57.
Priceless: The lucky couple reportedly watched “Titanic” on their date. Now, most men would try to save a few bucks and rent the regular DVD, but given JB’s clear baller tendencies, is it safe to assume he called James Cameron and finagled an early copy of the 3-D anniversary Blu-ray edition that is due out in April?
$299 to $1,199: The price of renting an inflatable, 32- to 40-foot portable movie screen from FunFlicks.com for a special event. That is, assuming the Biebs did not make Gomez crane her neck and watch the whole movie on the Center’s Jumbotron.
194: That’s how many minutes “Titanic” would run if JB didn’t have a remote that would allow him and Selena to skip some of the hours of extras.
2:30 a.m.: That’s about how late into the morning the couple would have had to stay at Staples in order to watch all of “Titanic,” assuming they started it as soon as they arrived at 11 p.m. and had it running during their meal.
$300,000: The amount Bieber pulls in nightly at each one of his concerts.
$53 million: That’s how much Bieber banked in 2010. In other words, don’t sweat it: He can afford this kind of date every night of the year if he wants to.

T.O.(Terrell Owens) finds out that he needs ACL surgery. This comes at a bad time. Eventhough it is the off-season T.O. doesn’t yet have a commitment from a team yet. When T.O.’s publicist, Kita arrives at the hospital, she is shocked to see him in bed prepped for surgery. T.O. uses the moment to pretend to seize up. The fun and games dissipate with the seriousness of the injury. A torn ACL is usually a career ender for older players.
Synopsis for Season 3, Episode 5, “The Reckoning”: Killer Prank
Maybe it’s the cheerleader in her, but Caroline is still determined to have a fun senior year. Forget that she’s a vampire and most of her friends are somehow supernatural, in Season 3, Episode 5, “The Reckoning,” Vampire Barbie ensures her pals take part in a high school right of passage, ‘Senior Prank Night.’ However, it’s clear Caroline and friends are not normal teens when the prank becomes deadly (thanks to some unwelcome visitors). Also, Damon —…
It’s only the second week of the competition, and we may have our first surprise elimination on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC). Though it may also be revealing an interesting, but perhaps not unexpected, bias playing out this season.
Last week, viewer votes lined up easily with judges scoring in eliminating Ron Artest and new professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd. This week, though, America didn’t agree with the judges. In fact, the eliminated dancer had one of the higher scores of the night.
There was the gradual cooling of tensions and the triumphant reunion, the raucous tour kickoff and finally, the two-year process of recording a new album.
And after all that, Blink are finally back with Neighborhoods, a record that crams all those highs and lows into just 36 minutes. It hit stores Tuesday (September 27), bringing one (very dark) chapter of the band’s career to a close, while simultaneously jump-starting another. And on the day of its release, MTV News emailed Blink’s Mark Hoppus to get his take on the long road he and his bandmates took, and just what lies ahead. Echoing the sentiments of many long-suffering Blink fans, he’s having a hard time wrapping his head around all of this too.
"[It’s been] eight years since the last Blink-182 album was released. I can’t believe it. It seems like just last year, and yet so much has happened since then," he wrote to us. "And now, finally, the new album that we’ve been talking about and working on for the past two years is out. This is the best part, the part where it turns from ideas in our head and abstract descriptions of what it might or will sound like, into a being unto itself. A CD. An mp3. A thing … that people can listen to for themselves."
And while Hoppus is thankful to begin moving forward, he can’t help but look back too. It’s sort of inevitable, given everything that’s happened in the eight years between Blink albums. But, in a lot of ways, those trials and tribulations have not only made the band stronger, but helped create an album they are all endlessly proud of. And now, it’s all yours.
"It has been a long trip to get here … five years of pain and animosity, the passing of some of our dearest friends, the rebuilding of our band. And now the new album is here," Hoppus continued. "Initial reaction to the songs and record has been overwhelmingly positive, and for that I’m truly grateful and excited. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with us through thick and thin. This record is for all of you. I hope the album means as much to you as it does to us."

You had to know it was coming. When it was announced that The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss was launching a new show called H8R — where celebrities confront real people who hate them — our knee-jerk reaction was “Bet Jake Pavelka will be on this.” And it looks like he’s on the premiere, which is tonight, Sept. 14 on the CW.It had to happen. "Sometimes it doesn’t work, and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love," Lopez said. "It’s still my biggest dream. I am positive — determined — to move forward with my life, bring up my babies and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong."
Lopez appears on the cover of the magazine’s September issue (on newsstands nationwide August 9), and she spoke openly not only about her marriage to Anthony, but her previous high-profile relationships with P. Diddy and Ben Affleck. Calling herself “a hopeless romantic … [a] passionate person when it comes to love,” she added that, until recently, she rarely loved herself, a revelation she says lead to her decision to split with Anthony.
"It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves," Lopez said. "To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself — if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now."
But Lopez adds that she remains close to Anthony, whom she married in June 2004and with whom she has two children, telling the magazine, “I will always respect Marc as a singer and a performer. … We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. … He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
All the single ladies! On Saturday night, it seems Jennifer Lopez took Beyonce’s lyrics to heart: “up in the club, just broke up, doing my own little thing.” J.Lo is basking in her newly-single life. After jetting to Las Vegas to perform at the IHeartRadio music festival, the superstar hit the dance floor at Pure Nightclub wearing a pink-and-white striped dress. But the night didn’t end there — “one of her dancers took his shirt and gave her a lap dance,” reports…
